Two months ago, I had 2,000 LinkedIn followers. Today, I have over 6,000. Here's exactly what I did.
The Strategy
I didn't go viral. I didn't have a lucky post. I followed a simple, repeatable system.
1. Post Every Single Day
Consistency beats quality. I committed to posting every weekday without fail. Some posts flopped. Some posts soared. But the algorithm rewarded my consistency.
2. Follow the Value Framework
Every post followed one of these formats:
- Educational: Teach something specific your audience can use immediately
- Story: Share a personal experience with a clear lesson
- Controversial: Challenge conventional wisdom (respectfully)
- Inspirational: Motivate with authentic vulnerability
3. Hook in the First Line
LinkedIn shows only the first 2-3 lines before the "see more" button. I made sure every post started with a hook that demanded attention.
Examples:
- "I almost quit my startup last month."
- "This one mistake cost me $50,000."
- "Unpopular opinion: hustle culture is a scam."
4. End with a Question
Every post ended with a question to encourage comments. Comments signal to the algorithm that your content is engaging, which means more reach.
The Results
Week 1: +200 followers
Week 4: +800 followers
Week 8: +1,500 followers (total: 6,000)
More importantly, my posts were getting 10x more engagement than before. I was connecting with potential customers, partners, and collaborators.
The Challenge
The hardest part? Coming up with 5 quality posts per week. It took me 4-5 hours each week just to write and schedule everything.
That's why I'm excited about Omi. Imagine having that content created for you, in your voice, every single day. All you'd have to do is approve and post.
Game changer.
